To fully enjoy the back country you need a “sweet ride”. What could be better than a 1991 Mitsubishi Delica. Four wheel Drive…..goes anywhere. Diesel….lots of power….slow power. Right hand drive, all the way from Japan.
In addition to being my ride, Trinity is also my home. My only home. We get along well.
Shortly after acquiring we stripped out the back and started the customization. A couch that folds out into a bed. Storage area under the couch. Shelving opposite the couch for storing things I need on a regular basis.
The front of the shelving unit comes out and becomes my table top. Great for cooking and working from.
Two “port hole” windows for light and seeing what is happening.
Curtain between the front driving area and the living area. Helps with warmth and privacy.
Newest and best addition…..a cubic mini wood stove. Perfect for those cold winter mornings or just to take the chill out of the air. A must for drying clothes after a day in the back country.
Thule on top…..storage space is at a premium. Nice to get the “less than fresh” things out of the living space and on top of the van.
